How to get whiter teeth without having to spend a fortune

Introducing five top tips that will make your smile sooo much brighter

Who doesn’t want a brighter, whiter smile? Everyone. Who wants to spend thousands getting the aforementioned brighter, whiter smile? Err, no-one. Fear not, we’ve found super thrifty tips to help you on the way to a winning smile…
All you need is a few teaspoons of baking soda and a squeeze of lemon juice. Mix up into a paste and then prep your mouth by wiping your teeth clean and as dry as possible. Use your toothbrush to apply your lemon paste generously. Leave for one minute. Rinse and admire you pearly whites. You can use squeezed lemon in some hot water as a refreshing and healthy hot beverage afters too.
Cost: approx 20p
Time to get your Vita Coco on. Scoop out a tablespoon of coconut oil and pop it in a glass of warm water. Now comes the tricky part. You need to swirl this mixture around your mouth, teeth and gums for as long as possible. Ideally 20 minutes, which is what they used to do in ancient times, but we get this would be tricky today. So, aim for around five minutes. Do this daily and see the difference.

Ok so this is more a trick of the light than an *actual* whitener, but it works all the same and makes you look pretty. What’s not to love? Exactly. You need to op for a red hue with blue undertones so more the classic and berry reds as it’s this bluey colouring that knocks out the yellowness on teeth, neutralising them and making them seem so much whiter and brighter. Clever huh?

Time for that trusty baking soda to make another appearance, this time you need to mash it up with a handful of ripe strawberries. Pulp them together until they make a thick paste, then pat your teeth dry with a piece of kitchen roll. Layer up your index finger with your berry mix and work all over the front of the teeth. Leave for three minutes and then spit out the mix and rinse with water.Do this twice a week and see if it helps your pearly whites look even brighter.
